La Rochelle Country House and Spa is a haven of natural beauty, peace and tranquility. Originally the home of Sir Stephen and Lady Virginia Courtauld, this historic Country House boasts one of the finest arboretums in Southern Africa with some 300 varieties of trees from around the world as well as the prestigious Courtauld Orchid collection.
The La Rochelle estate, comprising of 108 hectares of beautiful nature, is situated in the Imbeza Valley, in the mountainous eastern border area 280km from Harare. Just 9km off the Harare–Mutare road, it’s the perfect base for exploring Manicaland or a stop en route to Mozambique.

La Rochelle accommodation consists of seven beautifully appointed and individually designed rooms and suites in the historic Courtauld House (Courtauld Rooms), one free standing West Wing comprising of five rooms and a truly magnificent honeymoon suite (The Fantasy) – the epitome of romance, situated a small distance from the Country House overlooking the dam.
